Poetic inspiration: Did you know…

brave_poet

it takes courage to

undress your soul,

dig deep, to the darkest and

scariest parts of yourself and

let them shine through your poems.

    1. I do believe that in any piece of writing we reveal elements of ourselves, but poetry..it usually deals with very intense emotions and experiences that are condensed and the language with descriptions and metaphors is putting a reader on a whole different journey than prose..that’s how I perceive poetry 🙂

      1. I’ve found a suppressed, calmer more subtle me in the relatively short time I’ve explored my thoughts in a poetic way … I think it’s the lilt, the flow that helps me let myself go … and as for darker thoughts I tend to hide in ambiguity!
