Probably when people get hurt in love (and they often do) – they just don’t want to suffer anymore. I don’t know if this was the case with a poet, but in some times in my life I was doing much better being only on my own – yet still we should never forget the love we need to foster towards ourselves 🙂
I really enjoyed how she juxtaposed a very formal syntax (Four be the things…) with very informal ideas (sufficient champagne) and phrases (sock in the eye). It made me smile; thanks.
