Words are beings with a life of their own.
Each one that comes to me from you,
I catch, dissect, look deep
inside – I play with their hearts.
Sometimes I rearrange them,
wash and give them new clothes.
They become pretty.
That’s how I survive.

True, words are alive and living… and perhaps I need to learn to “wash and give them new clothes.” So often, so necessary! Very good! π

Hi Maja, I’m new to your work and am impressed with the sharpness, the flow and the clarity of focus in this piece. Deceptively simple here – but intuitively stylish, I think you are a natural writer… And look forward to keeping an eye on your work, as it develops… With Best Wishes Scott

Love this…giving words new clothes…I suppose that’s what we, as poets, do

Playing with words is a nice love injection – and it injects others with love as well. Win-Win!

I like your idea of washing and rearranging words…perhaps some kind of coping mechanism when the words we receive aren’t what we would have preferred. It made me think…well done! Thank you, Maja, for joining in with us at dVerse…hope to see you again.

It is a coping mechanism, it depends on us how we will react to something we don’t like. Thank you for reading my poem and I’m looking forward to participate at dVerse π
