  1. My favorite Piercy poem. It even edges out “For the Young Who Want To,” which I quote all the time. I love the last verse too. “The work of the world is as common as mud” evokes Judy Grahn’s Common Woman poems, and I never stop thinking of those museum exhibits as zoo animals, prevented from doing what they were made to do.
